Community Service

Community service is vital to developing a sense of community and belonging. Those who participate in community service greatly benefit from their work by gaining memorable experiences and building unique character traits. Students are given the opportunity to see life from a great many different angles, facilitating a sense of humility and the satisfaction of being part of something very important.

Crestdale would like to give students the opportunity to receive recognition for their community service efforts. To that end, Crestdale participates in the President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) program. The PSVA is a NATIONALLY recognized honor that was established in 2003 by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation.

President's Volunteer Service Award

Documentation for the 2019-2020 school year COMING SOON! Please pardon our progress!
When getting ready to volunteer here are some things to keep in mind:
  • Please always call or email the organization to schedule in advance and either print out a copy of your confirmation to bring with you (if via email) or the name of who you spoke to on the telephone to schedule your community service.
  • Please tell the organization you are from Crestdale Middle School!
Some volunteer activities have very specific age requirements; some are for ages 8-12 years old, some are for students 14+, etc. Please read this information carefully, or if needed, request clarification from the organization you are pursuing.
  • Some activities require an adult to accompany a minor; some activities simply do not have room for an adult to accompany the minor.

Great Ways to Get Involved

Here is a list of volunteer opportunities to help get you started… What interests YOU? Helping those that are homeless? Getting your hands dirty in a community garden? Cooking and sharing a meal with guests at The Ronald McDonald House?

There are lots of opportunities to help in the greater Charlotte metropolitan region!
